If you belong to Generation X, Xennials as they call it or the early part of Millennials, then you might know these video games or have even played it.
These were the video games that gave a new meaning to the rising technology during those years.
In fact, video games started to be designed as early as the 1950’s. This was the time when computer scientists were trying to make game simulations for their research.
The dawn of the video games was witnessed during the 70’s, this was a time when arcades were introduced to the society. The arcade games or the early gaming consoles were played using a joystick. This was an important part of the gaming industry as scientists, developers, and business people wanted to explore the world of gaming technology. They saw the massive potential of video games in our lives.
The early arcade games were developed in the 70’s. It was also during this time when home gaming consoles emerged. One of the famous video games that set foot in the gaming world was Pong. This was an instant hit!
Video games and other gaming consoles saw another brighter horizon during the 80’s. The video games increased its popularity and became a widespread form of entertainment and an important part of the modern popular culture.
These were the reasons why the golden age of video games was witnessed and even opened the doors for the second generation of video consoles.
The New Gaming Generation
Video games went through a series of change, from the first generation video games to the eighth generation video games.
Of course, the developments in technology also made a huge impact on the creation of the new video games. The gaming consoles also went through a complete makeover, from huge designs and joysticks to bulky hand-held controllers are now a thing of the past.
New gaming consoles can now be played through hand gestures and body movements. The visual effects and graphics also improved. Now we see a three-dimensional graphics that make the total video game experience better.
That is not the final makeover yet! With the rise in immersive technology, we now see video games that use more advanced technologies like Virtual Reality. The integration of immersive technology and video gaming gave a whole new meaning of playing video games.

What is this box that made a history in the gaming industry? How can a box do that? The popularity of this box reached different heights. The box is known by all people around the world. Children wish to unbox this box during Christmas. Tears will fall if you get this box on your birthday or during Christmas. Okay, enough of this boxing and unboxing suspense!

Xbox is a video gaming brand created, developed, and owned by Microsoft. The Xbox symbolizes a succession of video game consoles developed by Microsoft. The Xbox is a series of gaming consoles that were released using the term – sixth, seventh, and eighth generation.
An amazing aspect with Xbox is that the console runs on an operating system that includes the Windows 10 core, although initially, it included the Windows 8 core at the Xbox One’s release. The Xbox One system software contains a heavily modified Hyper-V hypervisor as its host OS and two partitions.
How is that for a Gaming Console?
Developing a gaming console that runs on Windows OS was a clever move from Microsoft. The original Xbox was released in 2001. This brought a different meaning in terms of the gaming console. The Xbox was in response to Sony’s PlayStation.
Just a quick trivia, the name Xbox was a contraction from Microsoft’s graphics API, DirectX. The initial term was DirectX Box until it became Xbox.
The second installment of the Xbox console was released in 2005. The next series was named Xbox 360. Same thing, it was Microsoft’s way to respond to Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s WII.
One of the amazing aspects of Xbox 360 is the expanded Xbox Live feature. This feature enables the user to stream multimedia content from your personal computer. It even was updated to make purchases for music, videos, TV programs, and movies available through Xbox music and Xbox video.
The next Xbox installment happened in 2013. This was the time when Microsoft released its third Xbox Series named Xbox One. Microsoft showed its prowess as it competed with Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii U. A remarkable aspect of Xbox One is its internet-based feature.
Xbox One now can record and stream gameplay, and had the integration set-up to be able to watch cable or satellite TV Programs. It also came in with an enhanced interface and Kinect-based voice control.
There was a brief makeover on Xbox One in 2016 when Microsoft released Xbox One S, this was a slimmer version of Xbox One.
According to Microsoft, it will be releasing its fourth Xbox series named Xbox One X. It was officially released on November 7, 2017.
Xbox One X was dubbed as the World’s Most Powerful Console. It is a gaming console that comes with powerful components. The Xbox One X has a powerful resolution making the gaming experience clearer and better. The popular Xbox games that you learned to love will be much better with Xbox One X.
The Xbox One X console comes fully-equipped with an eight-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, together with a 12GB of GDDR5 RAM. It sports the new gaming era. Xbox One X is also backward compatible, meaning you can play older Xbox games with ease.
